Facebook has launched a new service that allows its users to connect to the network from public computers with a temporary password.

public computers, such as hotels, cafes and airports could be infected with malicious programs that steal passwords. This service prevents cybercriminals get real passwords while connecting users from insecure computers.

To use the service, users must set up your account and send a text message with the word "otp" to the number 32665 to receive a password that only allows you to enter Facebook for 20 minutes.

Although the service is designed to enhance user safety, experts warn it could backfire if the user loses his phone. In this case, the person who finds it should only send the text message 20 minutes to get unlimited access to the account of his victim.

For now this service is only available for a few selected users while it assesses But Facebook is planning to expand it so that all users can use it. However, in a first stage the network will focus on its U.S. users, because the number to request the password only works within the United States.
